Tom Scott lid van de International Accounting Standards Board

De Canadese hoogleraar Tom Scott is door de Trustees of the IFRS Foundation benoemd als lid van de International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). In april begint Scott aan zijn termijn van vijf jaar als lid van de IASB.

Sinds het einde van de jaren ’70 is Tom Scott actief in de academische wereld van accounting bij meerdere Canadese universiteiten. Het meest recent was hij directeur van en hoogleraar accounting bij de School of Accounting and Finance van de University of Waterloo. Van 2003 tot 2011 was Scott lid van de Canadian Accounting Standards Board.

IASB-voorzitter Hans Hoogervorst zegt: “Tom’s long and distinguished career as an academic coupled with his background as a former national standard-setter will provide valuable experience to the Board. He will be a great resource as we deliver on our current five-year plan.”
